The World We Live In
We live in a world that has seen things pretty much change far faster then many thought possible a mere 30 years ago. Looking back many things we have to deal with or experience today were not issues that folks cared about or worried about. However, we are now dealing with a world that seems to be a mix of a Brave New World and 1984 with shades of the Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland thrown in for both horror and comedy.
We have elected officials who feel that their feelings are more important than doing the job they were elected to do. We have seen the same officials on both sides, actively work to over throw an elected President, all because they were caught with their pants down by the fact that a billionaire playboy who's main claim to fame was being just that a playboy who made business deals, won an election that one side felt was their by fiat and the other felt they would lose since they didn't have in their opinion a valid candidate. This sent shock waves through not only both political parties but also through the nation. Without waiting for the dust to settle, the media was quick to go on the attack, everything they could do to slander the newly and legally elected President was used. We as a nation watch riots on TV that broke out with in days of the election, we say folks claiming the President was a Russian Spy, or had Russian help in the form of bots working through social media, we had and still have, folks who claim that the popular vote was what should have been counted. We saw an adult film star be brought out to slander the President, along with a man's entire life crushed because certain political leaders felt that their feelings and hate were better things to follow then doing their job. We have seen movie stars and other paid professionals attack the President in manners and ways that violate the laws of the nation and walk away scot-free, were as normal folk who do the same make the news as they are arrested by either the FBI or the Secret Service.
We have seen politics trump common sense in schools, we have seen it used as a reason to attack people at their dinner. Or force them to close their businesses over it. We have several tragic events happen, and yet no answers to these events. A elderly man, who was out of shape, managed to take a large number of weapons and ammunition up to a 36th floor hotel room, remove hurricane proof glass, and avoid ALL the cameras and security systems said hotel had in place and then opened fire on a concert, and here we are two years later and we still have no answers or any real facts as to what happen that night or the days prior to this. We had a horrific shooting at a school in Florida and see the story unfold and then change several times, and then endure the left using this to push for changes to our way a life like they do after every tragic event, they lay blame with in seconds of hearing of the tragedy and do not wait for facts. They pander to what ever social cause fits their narrative and push till they can get their way and failing at that, they turn to the same tactics they have used in the past, they will go after anyone who opposes them with the help of the media, and use the court of public opinion to further their side. However, when their opinions and "facts" of things are proven false or are questioned they slander and degrade people who do this and turn things around on them to further destroy anyone who dares question them.
We have seen a change in what passes for movies and entertainment, where as political and moral messages have always been in movies and literature and television shows, things today have become that this is all that there is. No plot or story, no really characters to follow or become fans of. Just social justice of diversity or you must include a certain type/kind of person for the lack of a better word and they must be either LGBT or a minority or a woman or all three and if you do not do this your movie, product, book, comic, show etc.... is attacked and you are called a racist, homophobic, bigoted and further slandered until the only course left is to either fight back or just cancel what ever you were doing. We have seen folks who have worked hard to build a business and become successful attacked in a similar manner and made an enemy of the people all because certain groups feel their worthless lives must have meaning and no one can be successful if they are not being successful.
We have seen people listen to incorrect information found on the internet or what they watch in a YouTube video cause more social issues then at anyone point in current history. We have groups who believe that vaccines are going to kill them fast then the contagions they are designed to defeat will. We have seen the age old theories of climate change brought back to life and how if you give a few dollars more in taxes then things will be different and the change can be controlled and moderated and thus not be as dangerous in the long run. Yet noting that these taxes and laws and changes only seem to apply to a few nations and ours is the one being asked and told to foot the bill, and then the same group of scientific minds can't even agree on what is changing as far as the climate. This hoax is as old as mankind. The climate does change, that no one disagrees over, the issue comes in that it's not going to be the end of the world as we know it, to quote a song, and that it is not going to happen over night. Yet we have folks so convinced that if don't give more tax money or outlaw plastic everything then tomorrow may never come.
We have become a nation that if you support the foundations of the country and realize that while not prefect, we as a nation have stood the test that has caused many other nations to be nothing more then footnotes in the history books, you are called a racist or worse. We are told that the checks and balances that our founding fathers put in place to keep things from being abused or failing are now wrong and need to change. We see our Bill of Rights attacked daily, from our ability to express our thoughts and ideas to the right to protect ourselves.
